Location: Adamawa State, Nigeria
Organization: Alimat Care Foundation (ACF)
Application Deadline: January 15, 2026
Employment Type: Full-Time Volunteer (On-site)
Amplifying the Voices of Women and Girls
In the humanitarian sector, stories are the most powerful tools we have to inspire change and mobilize resources. As a Communications Volunteer for Alimat Care Foundation, you will be the creative lens through which the world sees our impact in Northeast Nigeria. By documenting human-interest stories and managing our digital presence, you ensure that the challenges and triumphs of the women and girls we serve are never silenced, but instead lead to global awareness and support.
Job Summary
The Communications Volunteer is responsible for boosting the visibility and brand presence of Alimat Care Foundation through compelling content creation and digital engagement. You will support the team by documenting field activities, managing social media interactions, and ensuring our advocacy messages reach the right audiences with clarity and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
I. Content Creation and Multimedia Storytelling
- Digital Content: Produce engaging posts for social media, contribute to monthly newsletters, and draft updates for the official website and annual reports.
- Field Documentation: Capture high-quality photographs and short-form videos of project activities to create a visual record of our impact.
- Human Interest Stories: Identify and write compelling narratives and case studies from the field that highlight the resilience of our beneficiaries.
II. Brand Management and Advocacy
- Visibility Compliance: Ensure all project materials, banners, and digital assets adhere to the branding guidelines of both ACF and our international donors.
- Advocacy Materials: Assist in the design and production of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, such as flyers and posters, to support community awareness.
- Media Archiving: Maintain a structured digital library of all photos, videos, and press mentions to ensure institutional memory.
III. Platform Management and Engagement
- Social Media Oversight: Assist in the daily management of social media accounts, responding to inquiries and monitoring community engagement.
- Campaign Support: Help execute digital advocacy campaigns focused on key humanitarian dates and gender-related issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Academic Background: A degree or current enrollment in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related creative field.
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is a mandatory requirement.
- Hands-on experience with social media management (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Basic skills in graphic design (Canva, Photoshop) and video editing are highly desirable.
- Writing & Storytelling: Strong ability to write clear, persuasive, and emotive content in English.
- Soft Skills: A keen eye for detail, a creative mindset, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining ethical standards in photography and reporting.
Why This Job is Important
The Communications Volunteer is the bridge between the field and the world. Without your work, the life-saving interventions we perform remain invisible to donors and the public. By creating high-quality content, you build the foundation’s credibility, help secure future funding, and—most importantly—provide a platform for the voices of vulnerable girls to be heard by decision-makers.
