ABOUT THE ROLE
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) at PATH is a relationship-centered, growth-oriented advisor supporting managers and teams across the Global Health Programs (GHP) division. This role is pivotal in navigating our complex, multi-country, donor-funded environment, providing strategic guidance to leaders across Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Combining high-level strategic partnership with hands-on advisory, the HRBP helps managers strengthen leadership, shape effective organizational structures, and build inclusive, resilient teams. You will work closely with regional HRBPs and People Operations to ensure culturally relevant and timely support for all employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Business Alignment
- People Strategy: Translate business priorities into talent plans that support programmatic growth, transitions, and evolving country presence.
- Contextual Guidance: Ensure HR advice reflects the realities of donor-funded cycles, fluctuating workforce needs, and multi-country operating environments.
- Cultural Awareness: Shape people strategies that meet the needs of diverse teams while aligning with global HR priorities.
2. Talent & Organizational Structure
- Workforce Planning: Advise on staffing for program start-ups, scale-ups, and transitions/close-outs.
- Matrix Management: Guide managers on team structure, role clarity, and succession readiness across cross-regional reporting lines.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and surface people risks, including morale challenges and team dynamics.
3. Leadership Coaching & Culture
- Management Coaching: Provide guided coaching to strengthen communication, performance leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Change Management: Lead divisional transitions and restructuring, ensuring consistent communication and thoughtful stakeholder engagement.
- Culture Ambassador: Reinforce desired leadership behaviors and foster a culture of equal partnership and resilience.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making
- Trend Analysis: Analyze workforce trends and team dynamics to provide actionable insights.
- Operational Health: Use HR data to inform decisions around staffing, well-being, and organizational strategy.
5. HR Collaboration
- Connector Role: Act as a bridge between employees, managers, and Shared Services to simplify HR processes and reduce confusion.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with Senior HRBPs on complex divisional matters and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that improve the overall “People Experience.”
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS
Required Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in HR advisory, business partnering, or employee experience roles.
- Global Exposure: Proven experience supporting globally distributed teams across multiple time zones, regulatory contexts, and cultural environments.
Core Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Strong mastery of organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, and employee relations.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and expectation-management skills.
- Agility: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, empathy, and cultural agility.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience in global health, international development, or donor-funded environments is highly advantageous.
