Gender Equality, Peace and Development Centre (GEPaDC) is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-religious and Women-led organization with the vision of“a society where women and men, girls and boys realize their full potential and participate in every sphere on an equal basis and where the rights of everyone irrespective of sex are recognized and respected” and the mission of “Promoting gender equality, peace and sustainable development and empowering women & girls”.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Child Protection Officer

Location: Bama & Ngala – Borno
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Develop and implement case management systems for children at risk, providing direct support and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Provide training and technical support to child protection staff, caregivers, and community members on child rights and protection issues.
  • Awareness Raising: Organize and conduct awareness campaigns and activities to educate communities on child protection and prevent harmful practices like child labor.
  • Community Engagement: Work with families, communities, and local authorities to build strong child protection systems and promote children’s rights.
  • Program Implementation: Oversee the implementation of child protection initiatives, ensuring they align with the NGO’s goals and are integrated into overall project activities.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of child protection cases and interventions, ensuring data quality and confidentiality.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with project partners, community-based organizations, and relevant government bodies to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree / HND or Master’s Degree qualification with 2 – 7 years work experience.
