Our mission is to enhance the optimum integrated development of people through community engagement and services focused on Social cohesion, Nutrition, SRHR, GBV, WASH, Health, Protection, and Livelihood Skills. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Program Manager (Volunteer)
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: Initial commitment: 3 months (renewable based on performance and funding availability).
The Role
- As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategic oversight and coordination of our program portfolio, ensuring all initiatives align with our vision to promote a healthy, productive, and peaceful society.
- The initial 3-month contract will focus on strengthening organizational capacity and leading integrated program delivery across Social Cohesion, Nutrition, SRHR, GBV, WASH, Health, Protection, and Livelihood Skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Define, plan, and execute program activities across HECADF’s focus areas (Nutrition, GBV, Health, Protection, and Livelihood), ensuring alignment with our mission.
- Performance Management: Monitor and track overall program performance, progress against key milestones, and budget utilization, reporting directly to executive leadership.
- Team Coordination: Guide and support project teams, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of all project outputs.
- Stakeholder & Partnership Management: Serve as a key liaison with local partners, community leaders, and potential donors to ensure program success and sustainability.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage program-level risks and issues, developing effective mitigation and contingency plans.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in public health, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of [3+ years] of progressive experience in Program Management, ideally within the NGO/Non-profit sector, with a focus on integrated development programs (Health, Livelihood, Protection).
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring diverse, cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in donor reporting and proposal development.
- Commitment: Deep passion for HECADF’s mission and a strong commitment to human dignity and inclusivity.
- Location: Willingness to be based in or travel to Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria (location customizable if different).
Contract Details:
- Duration: 3 Months (Probationary Contract).
- Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
- Transition: Excellent performance during the 3-month period will lead to consideration for a long-term, permanent Program Manager position.
