MISSION PHILOSOPHY
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization that provides assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict.
As a Physiotherapist with MSF France, you will play a critical role in our multidisciplinary medical team. Your work will go beyond standard rehabilitation; you will be integrated into our pediatric and nutrition programs, using neuromotor stimulation and play-based therapy to support the recovery of malnourished children and other vulnerable patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
- Provide high-quality physiotherapy care, including comprehensive assessments and individualized rehabilitation plans.
- Implement orthopedic treatments and preventive measures, specifically focusing on the needs of malnourished patients.
- Support neuromotor development through specialized play-based activities and group stimulation sessions.
2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work in synergy with medical, nursing, nutrition, and mental health teams to ensure holistic patient recovery.
- Participate in clinical case discussions and joint follow-ups to maintain a comprehensive continuum of care.
3. Caregiver Empowerment & Education
- Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation processes and home-based care.
- Strengthen the capacity of caregivers to promote their children’s neuromotor development.
4. Documentation & Resource Management
- Maintain rigorous documentation in patient files and registers to ensure traceability.
- Manage physiotherapy equipment and materials, adhering strictly to MSF Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards and stock monitoring protocols.
- Ensure timely data collection and reporting in accordance with internal project requirements.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution with a valid practicing license.
- Experience: Previous experience in clinical physiotherapy is required. Experience in pediatrics, malnutrition, or humanitarian contexts is a significant asset.
- Competencies: Strong facilitation and communication skills, ability to work in a multicultural team, and a high level of empathy and ethical standards.
- Ethics: Commitment to MSF values and principles.
