THE MISSION

​Action Against Hunger (ACF) is a global humanitarian organization that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. In North-East Nigeria, we operate in complex and insecure settings to deliver life-saving programs.

​As the Senior Field Coordinator, you will be the strategic lead for our operations in the region. Your mission is to mentor programming, guarantee operational accountability, and ensure the safety of our personnel while representing ACF’s mandate to local partners and stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategy & Mentoring: Support and mentor ACF programming and strategy in North-East Nigeria, focusing on reporting, capitalization, quality, and accountability.
  • Operational Oversight: Guarantee overall accountability for Finance, Human Resources, and Logistics within the field office.
  • Safety & Security: Ensure the rigorous safety and security of all ACF personnel and assets in a high-risk environment.
  • Partnership Development: Support and mentor local implementing partners to build sustainable humanitarian capacity.
  • Representation: Represent ACF on the field, ensuring strict adherence to the organization’s mandate, Charter, and Principles.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Education: Degree in Social Science, International Relations, International Development, Humanitarian Response, or a related field.
  • Experience: * Minimum of 7 years of INGO experience in insecure settings in a similar leadership role.
    • ​Prior experience with ACF in emergency and post-emergency contexts is a significant asset.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to organize, train, and motivate multicultural teams with excellent negotiation and diplomatic skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex situations, identify key issues, and define coherent, integrated strategies.
  • Mentorship: Skilled in knowledge transfer, coaching individuals, and synthesizing information for strategic decision-making.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

​ACF offers a competitive international package under French legislation:

  • Remuneration: Monthly gross salary (€2,597 – €2,968) + 13th month + €200/month Mentorship Allowance.
  • Allowances: Monthly Per Diem & Living Allowance ($786 net), plus a €450 monthly Country Allowance.
  • Benefits: 16% pension reimbursement (for non-French citizens), child allowance (up to €6,000/year), and full medical/repatriation insurance.
  • Leave & RnR: 25 days of paid leave + 20 RnR days per year (including airfare reimbursement and €215 per RnR period).
  • Support: Coverage of transportation and guesthouse accommodation.
