ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
In an increasingly digital-first environment, high-quality and ethically produced content is at the heart of IOM’s advocacy, visibility, and public trust. IOM Nigeria is seeking a Content and Digital Assets Officer to serve as the primary custodian of the mission’s digital and visual storytelling ecosystem.
Under the guidance of the Chief of Communication, you will manage the end-to-end production of multimedia assets—including video, photography, graphics, and podcasts—ensuring they meet professional industry standards while strictly adhering to branding and safeguarding policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Multimedia Production & Coordination
- Support the production of high-impact multimedia content (video, photography, graphics) for IOM’s digital platforms.
- Coordinate with field offices and program teams to capture compelling human-interest stories from project locations.
- Liaise with external creative vendors (videographers, designers) to ensure outputs meet institutional standards.
2. Digital Asset Management & Quality Control
- Maintain and organize a digital repository of visual materials, ensuring appropriate tagging and metadata management.
- Ensure all content strictly adheres to IOM Branding Guidelines and donor visibility requirements.
- Identify and collaborate with local youth content creators and influencers to amplify IOM messaging.
3. Ethics, Consent & Safeguarding
- Ensure every piece of multimedia content is backed by valid consent documentation.
- Apply protection and safeguarding principles to all storytelling to “Do No Harm.”
- Provide technical guidance to field teams on capturing high-quality mobile content and ethical storytelling.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Education: University degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Film, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Experience: * Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in multimedia storytelling or digital communications.
- Demonstrated experience managing video, photography, and digital production workflows.
- Experience working with external creative agencies or service providers.
- Languages: * Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
- Knowledge of Nigerian languages (including Pidgin) is a strong asset for culturally grounded storytelling and community engagement.
