POSITION OVERVIEW
International Medical Corps (IMC) is seeking a dedicated National Medical Doctor to provide comprehensive clinical care to displaced and vulnerable populations in Damboa. This role is responsible for the entire patient journey—from triage and diagnosis to treatment and referral. You will not only provide direct clinical services but also serve as a technical lead, supervising clinical staff, identifying training gaps, and ensuring that all medical services meet international standards of care and infection prevention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Clinical Care & Ward Management
- Primary Care: Deliver high-quality diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic conditions, including primary health care, maternal and child health, and reproductive health.
- Inpatient Care: Conduct daily rounds, initiate case discussions, and maintain rigorous documentation of patient progress and management plans.
- Referral Management: Identify cases requiring advanced care and facilitate the referral process in line with IMC protocols.
- Emergency Response: Participate in a 24-hour health service delivery system, including shift rotations and potential outbreak response.
2. Technical Leadership & Capacity Building
- Staff Mentorship: Identify training needs among clinical staff and provide both didactic and hands-on clinical training.
- Supervision: Manage and supervise other clinical staff as directed, fostering a collaborative and professional medical team.
- IPC Standards: Ensure strict adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures as per MoH and international standards.
3. Data & Administration
- Monitoring: Collect and analyze medical service data to improve quality of care and clinic performance.
- Resource Management: Manage essential drug stocks and medical consumables to prevent stockouts.
