Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is one of the frontline National Non-governmental organizations working in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States with over a decade experience in providing humanitarian and development services in the North East Nigeria. Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is a humanitarian and development organization dedicated to responding to emergencies and working to foster sustainable development in Nigeria since 2014, with over a decade of work expertise in education in emergencies, early recovery and livelihood, food security, water sanitation and hygiene, healthcare, and nutrition sectors. Over the years, TCDI has cultivated strong technical and professional relationships with communities, and government institutions as well as with local and international partners to support the transition from emergency to recovery and development in Northeast Nigeria It has partnered with numerous government agencies, National and International NGOs as well as UN Agencies in the design, planning, implementation, and supervision of programmes and activities aimed at improving the lives of rural and urban communities.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Security Coordinator
Location: Sokoto (TCDI Office and field sites)
Reports To: Head of Operations
Purpose
- Ensure TCDI staff, premises, and assets are protected by implementing robust security measures and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site security assessments and risk analyses.
- Liaise with security personnel and external service providers.
- Develop and deliver security training to staff.
- Monitor surveillance systems.
- Lead response to security incidents and prepare incident reports.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and organizational policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Security Studies, Criminology, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years in security, safety, or risk management roles.
- Knowledge of the local Nigerian security context.
- Calm and decisive in emergency situations.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
