Job Title: Project Coordinator – Adventures of Cancerville Comic Book Project
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Employment type: Part-time (20 hours per week; flexible schedule).
Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension.
About the Project
- The Foundation for Cancer Care is launching “The Adventures of Cancerville”, a comic book designed to educate 5,000+ secondary school students and young adults in Lagos State on cancer prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyles.
Position Summary
- The Project Coordinator will play a key role in managing and executing the comic book project.
- This part-time role involves coordinating the creative and production processes, engaging stakeholders, supporting distribution, and ensuring project activities are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact.
- The role requires excellent organizational skills, communication abilities, and a passion for youth health education.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination:
- Oversee day-to-day planning, coordination, and execution of the comic book project.
- Manage timelines for storyboarding, illustration, production, and distribution.
- Liaise with illustrators, writers, reviewers (oncologists, nurses, teenagers), and other stakeholders to ensure quality and relevance of content.
- Track progress of deliverables and ensure milestones are met within budget.
- Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Coordinate stakeholder feedback sessions with health professionals and youth representatives.
- Foster partnerships with schools, faith-based groups, youth organizations and other relevant groups for distribution.
- Engage community champions, volunteers, and teachers in promoting the project.
- Communications & Outreach
- Support the launch campaign through social media, newsletters, and events.
- Coordinate marketing activities to promote both e-copies and printed copies.
- Assist in managing relationships with bookstores, donors, and distribution partners.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Support data collection through pre- and post-project surveys, quizzes, and feedback forms.
- Track distribution metrics, digital engagement, and stakeholder feedback.
- Contribute to progress reports, donor updates, and final impact assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Communications, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project coordination, preferably in health, education, or nonprofit programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with youth engagement, health education, or creative/media projects is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; experience with project management tools is desirable.
