Grass Root Advocacy for Community Empowerment Initiative (GRACE Initiative) is a humanitarian organisation operating within the thematic areas of GBV, Nutrition (IYCF), Women Empowerment and WASH. Duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) on October 2019 with Reg No: 138203.GRACE Initiative aims to protect women, girls and children, including people with disability. GRACE Initiative program activity is integrated to promote the best interest of people we serve ensuring that on one is left behind.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Officer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Purpose

  • The Program Manager will directly supervise the Program Officer and will play a vital role in supporting the GRACE Initiative’s various projects and initiatives.
  • By dedicating their time, skills, and passion, Program Officers contribute directly to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, fostering community engagement, and promoting sustainable development practices.

Key Responsibilities
Project Support:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of project activities.
  • Support project activities, including workshops, training sessions, and community meetings.
  • Help with logistics coordination for events and field activities.
  • Maintain program records and databases
  • Assist with program reporting and monitoring

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with beneficiaries and community members to understand their needs and aspirations.
  • Facilitate communication between the organization and local stakeholders.
  • Promote community participation and ownership in project activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc. Degree with 1 year of work experience.
  • Knowledge and strong interest in areas such as Nutrition, Education, PSS, WASH, GBV, women and youth empowerment, sexual and reproductive health, environmental justice, and livelihoods.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in implementing or coordinating programs, preferably in a non-governmental organization (NGO) setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection, management, and basic reporting.
  • Familiarity with community-based programming and working with vulnerable populations.
  • Experience in staff supervision or team coordination is an asset.
