The People & Culture Support Consultant plays a vital role in ensuring transparent, efficient, and compliant hiring processes that enable Malaria Consortium to deploy skilled personnel rapidly. This role directly supports programme success by strengthening human resource systems during high-volume recruitment cycles. Job Summary
The People & Culture Support Consultant will provide end-to-end recruitment support to the People & Culture Unit for the PF-SMC Project. The role covers sourcing, screening, interview coordination, documentation, and compliance for both fixed-term and consultancy positions. The consultant will ensure all recruitment activities align with Malaria Consortium policies and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and screen applications to develop longlists aligned with job descriptions and ToRs.
- Provide logistical support throughout recruitment and selection processes.
- Draft interview schedules and submit for approval.
- Coordinate interviews, including communication with candidates and panel members.
- Participate in interviews as assigned and support panel processes.
- Prepare clear, accurate interview reports and recommendations.
- Conduct reference checks for shortlisted candidates.
- Prepare and issue contracts for new staff and short-term personnel.
- Support recruitment workflow updates on Recruitment+ or similar systems.
- Ensure proper filing, documentation, and submission of recruitment records.
- Perform other People & Culture–related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Expected Deliverables
- Well-structured longlists of qualified candidates.
- Approved interview schedules for written and oral assessments.
- Accurate and timely interview reports.
- Complete and well-organized recruitment documentation.
- Proper collation and submission of interview grids and personnel records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in an HR generalist or People & Culture support role.
- Proven experience in high-volume or field-based recruitment.
- Strong background in HR documentation and administrative support.
- Working knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and recruitment tracking tools.
- Note: Must have personal working tools (laptop and reliable internet).
- Previous experience with Malaria Consortium and/or SMC projects is an advantage.
