Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a national humanitarian and development organization with over 10 years of development interventions and humanitarian response in Nigeria. We have partnered with several INGOs and NGOs in implementing people’s centered project.

We work with the poor and socially excluded people, and government for the promotion of environment and human rights protection in communities that are in Nigeria, aimed at poverty reduction through education, information sharing, research, training and direct impact intervention.

Job Title: Nutrition Officer
Location: Nganzai LGA, Borno State
Project: BHA-funded Project in Partnership with Save the Children International
Reports to: Nutrition Project Coordinator
Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Summary:

The Nutrition Officer will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all nutrition interventions under the BHA-funded project. S/he will ensure the delivery of quality services to vulnerable populations in line with national guidelines and international best practices. The role requires close collaboration with health teams, community structures, and partners to ensure integrated service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the roll-out and management of Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) programs.
  • Work with the community volunteers and health facility staff to identify, screen, and refer malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision and on-the-job training for health workers and community volunteers on nutrition protocols and tools.
  • Coordinate and monitor distribution of nutrition supplies, including RUTF and micronutrient powders.
  • Work with MEAL team to collect and validate program data and prepare accurate and timely reports.
  • Organize and conduct sensitization sessions, community dialogue, and health education sessions on nutrition and IYCF practices.
  • Participate in joint monitoring visits, review meetings, and stakeholder engagements with community leaders, government agencies, and partners.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of project documents at the field level.
  • Ensure adherence to all donor and organizational policies including child safeguarding, PSEA, and accountability to affected populations.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, or related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in nutrition programming in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Proven experience in implementing CMAM and IYCF-E programs.
  • Knowledge of the local context in Borno State, particularly Nganzai LGA.
  • Familiarity with national nutrition protocols and international standards.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Hausa or Kanuri is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in a demanding and insecure environment.
