Job Summary

We are seeking a diligent and dependable professional to provide secure transportation services for our team members, official visitors, and project supplies under the ECEWS Global Fund (GF) initiative. The successful candidate will be a key member of the administrative team, responsible for the day-to-day functional maintenance and cost-effective operation of the assigned office vehicle, while ensuring full adherence to all safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

The Motor Vehicle Operator’s core duties revolve around safety, vehicle management, and logistical support:

1. Secure Transportation and Logistics

Personnel Transport: Safely and reliably drive official vehicles to transport authorized project staff, partners, and visitors to and from various official destinations.
Material Movement: Execute timely delivery and collection of official mail, documents, equipment, and other essential project items.
Visitor Support: Provide courteous meet-and-greet services for official personnel and visitors, including providing assistance with airport, customs, and visa formalities when required.

2. Vehicle Management and Maintenance

Daily Maintenance: Ensure the assigned vehicle is consistently maintained in excellent operational condition by performing timely minor repairs, arranging major servicing, checking fluid levels, tires, brakes, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness (washing).
Cost Control: Promote cost efficiency and proper vehicle usage by accurately and diligently maintaining daily vehicle logbooks and contributing necessary data for the preparation of comprehensive vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
Readiness: Guarantee the constant availability of all mandatory documents and supplies, including valid insurance, vehicle logs, necessary spare parts, a first aid kit, and current navigational maps.

3. Safety and Compliance

Accident Protocol: Immediately comply with all established organizational rules and governmental regulations regarding actions to be taken in the event of any traffic accident or incident.
Client Service: Act as a courteous and professional representative of the organization while interacting with all clients, visitors, and staff.
Project Assistance: Provide additional, flexible support to the project team and the Administrative Assistant as assigned, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Educational and Licensing Requirements

Education: Minimum relevant academic qualification from a secondary institution (High School Certificate or equivalent).
License: Possession of a valid national driver’s license is mandatory.

Safety Knowledge: Deep, practical knowledge of local traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and road safety regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance: Basic practical knowledge of vehicle mechanics and the ability to perform minor, routine maintenance and checks.
Communication & Protocol: Familiarity with professional etiquette, basic telecommunication protocol, and proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office for logbook input).
Dependability: Demonstrated history of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of accountability for the assigned asset.
