We are seeking a highly motivated and community-focused FSL Assistant to join our team in Sokoto and play a crucial role in implementing our Resilience and Economic Capacity Acceleration Project (RECAP). This is an opportunity to directly contribute to building sustainable livelihoods and economic recovery for the most vulnerable communities.
The Role: FSL Assistant
As the FSL Assistant, you are the crucial link between our programs and the target communities. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day, detailed planning and field-level execution of Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) and Economic Recovery interventions, ensuring that aid is delivered efficiently, transparently, and with high quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation and Quality Assurance (Mission 1)
- Lead Field Execution: Support the FSL Officer in the detailed, day-to-day planning and execution of Livelihoods and Economic Recovery components of the RECAP Project.
- Targeting & Distribution: Actively map and identify the most vulnerable groups, coordinate beneficiary selection, manage cash disbursements, and conduct regular monitoring of FSL activities, including tracking cash utilization.
- Ensure Adherence: Guarantee program quality in the field, strictly adhering to Action Against Hunger’s technical guidelines, systems, and established deadlines.
- Learning & Reporting: Support the documentation of lessons learned and best practices from the Social Protection component, contributing to organizational and sector-wide learning.
- Share Impact: Assist in preparing internal and external reports, including capturing compelling case studies and success stories related to FSL project achievements.
2. Data Collection and Monitoring (Mission 2)
- Field Surveillance: Collect information regularly to enable effective surveillance, ensuring the RECAP project achieves its expected results and informs program decisions.
- M&E Support: Provide direct support to the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team by planning and collecting key program data, such as price monitoring and proxy-updates.
- Beneficiary Management: Support accurate beneficiary registration using the designated tools and participate in monitoring vendors’ activities before and during disbursements to facilitate smooth beneficiary transactions.
- Grievance Resolution: Work closely with the Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) team to ensure timely and proper documentation and resolution of all complaints related to the RECAP FSL program.
3. Community Engagement and Protection (Mission 3)
- Mobilization & Awareness: Contribute to the development of community mobilization strategies and implement sensitization activities to inform targeted communities, local authorities, and stakeholders about project objectives.
- Transparent Targeting: Work with community structures to ensure the targeting of beneficiaries for Livelihoods and other assistance is transparent, principled, and actively involves women and minority members.
- Coordination: Facilitate a positive working relationship between ACF and other local actors through full participation in community and Ward-level coordination meetings.
- Protection Mainstreaming: With support from the FSL Officer, ensure that all processes involved in providing assistance are gender-sensitive, context-appropriate, and prioritize beneficiary protection.
