Hallmark Leadership Initiative (HALI) is a nonprofit organization that provides support in key areas, which include Health, Public Awareness, Education, Peace Building and Reintegration, Accountability, Protection (GBV) and Empowerment. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Community Volunteer
Location: Maiduguri and Jere, Borno
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 9 months
Role Summary
Community Volunteers will support project implementation at community level by mobilizing persons with disabilities and community members, conducting sensitization activities, supporting inclusive feedback mechanisms, and strengthening community participation in project activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support community mobilization and sensitizationon disability inclusion, protection, and available project services.
Identify and mobilize persons with disabilities, caregivers, and vulnerable households for project activities.
Support dissemination of inclusive information materials(pictorial, audio, large print, etc.).
Assist in organizing community meetings, feedback sessions, and awareness campaigns.
Support OPDs and project staff during accessibility audits, distributions, trainings, and outreach activities.
Promote Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)by encouraging use of feedback and complaints mechanisms.
Report community feedback, concerns, and protection risks to project staff promptly.
Uphold safeguarding, PSEA, and ethical conduct standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Resident of MMC or Jere LGA.
Minimum of SSCEor equivalent (ability to read and write).
Strong knowledge of the local community and languages.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work with persons with disabilities respectfully and inclusively.
Ability to volunteer time for community activities and outreach.
Added Advantage:
Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Prior experience in community mobilization, humanitarian work, health, protection, or volunteer activities.
Membership or affiliation with a community group, OPD, youth group, or women’s group.
Ability to communicate using sign languageor experience supporting persons with hearing or visual impairments.
