ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior M&E Officer will be the focal point for all Research and MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) activities within the state. The primary focus is supporting the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) project through data validation, capacity building, and strengthening the Health Management Information System (HMIS).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical (50%): Manage data collection during mass SMC drug administration; maintain high-quality databases; lead Data Quality Audits (DQA).
- Program Management (10%): Support SMoH and LGA coordination meetings and conduct supervisory visits to health facilities.
- Accountability (10%): Implement beneficiary feedback loops and orient staff on accountability principles.
- Knowledge Management (20%): Systematically analyze data for program adjustment; document lessons learned and develop learning briefs.
- Representation (10%): Liaise with SMoH counterparts and participate in M&E Communities of Practice.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Degree in Statistics, Demography, Mathematics, or a quantitative discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in M&E, specifically in community-based interventions and Nigerian public sector health systems (HMIS/CLMS).
