Strategy Guide: Landing the Pharmacy Storekeeper Role
1. Understanding the “MSF Pharmacy” Standards
MSF-France uses very specific tools. To stand out, mention or research the following:
- Isystock: This is the software mentioned in the advert. Even if you haven’t used it, mention your proficiency in “electronic stock management systems.”
- FEFO vs. FIFO: In general logistics, people use FIFO (First In, First Out). In a pharmacy, FEFO (First Expired, First Out) is the golden rule. Highlight your experience with this.
- Cold Chain Protocols: This is the most sensitive part of the job. Be ready to explain how you handle a “cold chain rupture” (e.g., a fridge failure).
2. Tailoring Your CV for Katsina
- Katsina Location: If you are local to Katsina or the North-West, emphasize your familiarity with the region. If not, state your willingness to relocate for the contract duration.
- Medical Accuracy: List any specific experience you have with “Controlled Drugs” or “Quarantined Items.”
- Logistics Collaboration: The job requires working with the logistics team to maintain fridges. Show that you are a “Team Player” who communicates across departments.
3. Critical Interview Preparation
Expect behavioral questions based on the “Note” section of the advert:
- Scenario: “You notice a fridge temperature has risen to 12°C overnight. What is your first action?” * Answer: Escalate immediately to the Pharmacy Supervisor and move items to a functional cold chain unit.
- Integrity Check: MSF is very strict about security. You may be asked how you handle unauthorized personnel trying to enter the store.
- Dual Employment: Be ready to confirm that you do not hold any other active jobs, as MSF considers this “gross misconduct.”
4. Submission Checklist
Since only “successful applicants” will be called, ensure your initial package is perfect:
- [ ] PDF 1: Complete CV.
- [ ] PDF 2: Tailored Cover Letter.
- [ ] PDF 3: Scans of all Certificates & Diplomas mentioned in the CV.
- [ ] PDF 4: Copy of National ID.
- [ ] References: Ensure you have the names, titles, and active phone numbers of at least two past supervisors.
