THE ROLE

​Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is looking for a dedicated Nurse Team Supervisor to lead our nursing teams in Kebbi. This is a critical leadership role within our Inpatient and Outpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centres (ITFC/ATFC). You will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care, hygiene, and medical protocols are maintained while fostering a collaborative environment for our frontline medical staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Clinical Leadership & Quality of Care

  • Supervision: Lead the nursing team in the ITFC/ATFC unit, ensuring precision in medication administration, vital signs interpretation, and clinical follow-up.
  • Protocol Enforcement: Implement and supervise all MSF hygiene procedures and clinical protocols to guarantee the quality of patient service.
  • Ward Management: Participate in morning ward rounds to identify urgent medical issues and ensure seamless handovers between shifts.

2. Team Coordination & Development

  • HR Management: Organize team schedules, manage annual leave/absences, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Bedside Coaching: Provide hands-on training and mentorship to Nurses and Nutrition Assistants.
  • Collaboration: Mediate and solve interpersonal staff issues in collaboration with the Nursing Activity Manager (NAM).

3. Pharmacy & Equipment Oversight

  • Stock Management: Supervise the decentralized pharmacy, including drug orders, inventory, storage conditions, and expiration tracking.
  • Biomedical Support: Ensure staff are trained on medical devices and that minor maintenance is performed according to protocol.

4. Data & Administration

  • Reporting: Coordinate patient file management, statistics collection, and regular reporting to support project decision-making.
  • Patient Advocacy: Ensure comprehensive health education sessions are provided to caretakers by the medical and health promotion teams.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS

  • License: Valid practicing license as a Registered Nurse (mandatory).
  • Clinical Expertise: Strong knowledge of nursing care, particularly in nutrition or emergency settings (ITFC/ATFC experience is a significant advantage).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, solve problems, and work flexibly in high-pressure environments.
  • Communication: Ability to foster good working relationships between departments (Pharmacy, Laboratory, Mental Health).
