​About the Organization

​(AHF) is a leading global NGO delivering comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care services. In Nigeria, AHF works with the Federal Ministry of Health to expand access to quality healthcare and strengthen community-based interventions.

​Job Summary

​The ART Nurse will support the delivery of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services at facility level, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered HIV care. The role involves clinical support, patient education, community linkage, and strengthening of prevention and treatment programs.

​Key Responsibilities

​Clinical Service Delivery

  • ​Support clinicians in delivering quality ART, PMTCT, TB, and HIV prevention services
  • ​Administer medications and carry out nursing procedures within scope of practice
  • ​Perform phlebotomy and initiate IV treatments as required
  • ​Ensure accurate patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation

​Patient Care & Support

  • ​Provide health education to patients and their families
  • ​Promote adherence to treatment and retention in care
  • ​Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
  • ​Report changes in patient condition promptly to medical team

​Program Implementation

  • ​Expand Provider-Initiated Testing and Counseling (PITC) services
  • ​Strengthen referral and linkage systems within and outside the facility
  • ​Support community HIV prevention programs and outreach activities
  • ​Participate in operational research and program improvement initiatives

​Team Collaboration & Reporting

  • ​Participate in team meetings and case management discussions
  • ​Support supervision of community program staff where required
  • ​Ensure timely and accurate documentation of services and reports

​Additional Duties

  • ​Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

​Education & Experience

  • ​Degree or diploma in Nursing or equivalent qualification
  • ​Valid RN/RM license
  • ​Minimum of 3 years’ nursing experience
  • ​At least 1 year experience in HIV/AIDS program implementation

​Technical Skills

  • ​Knowledge of Nigeria’s Minimum Prevention Package (MPP)
  • ​Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • ​Strong clinical and patient care skills

​Core Competencies

  • ​Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ​High level of empathy and patient sensitivity
  • ​Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • ​Commitment to ethics and confidentiality in HIV care
  • ​Good reporting and documentation skills
