About GWEF

Our mission is to strengthen leadership, essential skills, digital inclusion, and economic mobility for women and girls, with a specific focus on reaching and serving underserved, rural communities across Africa.

We are seeking passionate, disciplined, and mission-driven candidates eager to contribute their skills to a genuine cause and build sustainable pathways for empowerment.

The Role: Rural / ICT Innovation Lead

Location: Remote (Flexible Working) Employment Type: Full-time

This is a critical, outcome-based, and remote-friendly leadership position. • Bridging the Gap: Develop strategies to overcome common rural barriers to technology adoption, including access to hardware, reliable internet, and energy poverty.

2. ICT/AI Curriculum Development & Adaptation

  • Curriculum Design: Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of the organization’s ICT and foundational AI curriculum.
  • Localisation: Ensure all training materials are culturally sensitive, appropriate for the local educational levels, and focused on skills that translate directly into economic mobility (e.g., e-commerce, remote work, digital entrepreneurship).

3. Rural Learning Hubs Infrastructure

  • Hub Development: Strategize and oversee the implementation and sustainability of rural learning hubs (physical or virtual community spaces) that serve as centers for digital education and technological access.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that hubs are equipped with appropriate, low-cost, and sustainable technology solutions suitable for off-grid or remote settings.

4. Field Coordination and Volunteer Management

  • Activity Coordination: Coordinate all field-level ICT and innovation activities, ensuring alignment with central goals and effective implementation by local teams.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage local volunteers, mentors, and facilitators, building their capacity to deliver high-quality digital training autonomously.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Work with the M&E team to track key metrics related to digital fluency, economic impact, and program reach.
