Novel Alliance for Development Aid (NADA) is a national NGO registered with Nigerian Cooperate Affair Commission as a humanitarian and development organization. The organization was founded in 2017 in Maiduguri Borno State, Nigeria by Nigerian intellectuals’ humanitarian to provide integrated humanitarian services to people and communities affected by the crisis within the country with a focus on the northeast and northwest Nigerian.

Job Duration: 6 Months
Role Purpose:
- The Case worker will support the protection activities and ensure functionality of the case management.
- The Case worker will be providing a range of case management and other support services within the child protection sub-sector to enhance the children’s and caregivers’ mental health through case management program in Novel Alliance for Development Aid (NADA) response locations.
- In the event of major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
- The case worker will be expected to mentor and or build capacity of PSS facilitators/community volunteers on identification of cases at the field.
- Responsible for prompt submission of reports to Child protection Officer.
- Ensure regular follow-ups of all registered cases for proper response.
- The Case worker will ensure case management is conducted with quality to improvements the vulnerable Status of children and their families affected by the conflict in Northwest Nigeria.
- Identify gaps in service provision to vulnerable children, women and girls proactively refer and advocate for those gaps in coordination with the child protection Officer and NADA team.
- Ensure the confidentiality of the information collected during the case management services and input the information on the CPIMS+
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Support to Case Management programming activities with Child Protection (CP)
- Ensure case management programming are provided to children affected by the conflict in a dignified, respectful, equitable and inclusive manner that support their resilience.
- Assisting children in acute distress and alleviating their stress, for instance ensuring PFA where necessary.
- Support in conducting proper case management.
- Be able to identify case management cases that needs support for referral to partners and other actors in the location of implementation.
- Map out MHPSS and Child Protection service providers and agree on referral pathways for children with case management concern and severe mental health disorders.
Provision of services:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with children and families.
- Develop positive and meaningful relationships with caregivers and children through regular one-on-one and group counselling sessions depending on their needs.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
- Ability to handle complex and sensitive situation with empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Keeping confidential records of all the children in the child protection program.
Proposed Outputs:
- Be available on call/ teams if any urgent matters arise that a staff would like to share about his/her wellbeing which requires urgent attention.
- Weekly and monthly progressive report to the Child protection Officer to highlight needs and gaps.
- Development of peer/reflective practices with teams.
- Proper documentation of all cases managed.
- The case worker is expected to be based at the implementation location.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or its equivalent in Social Work, Child Development, Gender, Human Rights, or a related field.
- Proven experience minimum of 2 years working with children and families in a case management or social work role.
- Experience in Case management and Psychological First Aid (PFA) Child.
- Experience working in hard to reach locations.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Excellent attention to details, organizational skills and discretion with confidential information.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Fluent in English, Hausa; ability to communicate locally is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently, Flexible and proactively.
- Experience in working in case management and its components.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience working in humanitarian emergencies and or crisis affected setting.
