Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a national humanitarian and development organization with over 10 years of development interventions and humanitarian response in Nigeria. We have partnered with several INGOs and NGOs in implementing people’s centered project.

We envisage rural communities in Nigeria that are environmentally conscious, where poverty is eradicated, and social rights upheld. We work with the poor and socially excluded people, and government for the promotion of environment and human rights protection in communities that are in Nigeria, aimed at poverty reduction through education, information sharing, research, training and direct impact intervention.

Position Title: FSL Project Coordinator
Location: Nganzai, Borno State
Employment Type: Full-Time
Duration: 6 Months

Job Purpose:

The FSL Coordinator provides strategic leadership, technical guidance, and overall coordination of all Food Security and Livelihoods interventions within the organization’s operational areas. The role ensures that project activities are designed and implemented in line with best practices, donor standards, and community needs, while strengthening the resilience and self-reliance of vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Program Design & Implementation

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of FSL projects in accordance with organizational strategy and donor requirements.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of project activities including food assistance, cash/voucher programming, livelihoods support, and market-based interventions.
  • Work closely with MEAL team to develop tools for needs assessments, market analysis, and post-distribution monitoring.

2.  Technical Support and Capacity Building

  • Provide technical support and coaching to FSL staff and field teams.
  • Organize training and mentoring sessions to strengthen the capacity of program staff and local partners.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards and promote innovative and context-appropriate FSL solutions.

3.  Coordination and Representation

  • Represent the organization in FSL sector meetings, working groups, and with local authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs.
  • Coordinate with logistics, finance, protection, WASH, and other departments to ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with community leaders and beneficiaries.

4.  Monitoring, Reporting & Learning

  • Lead regular field monitoring, data collection, and analysis to track project progress and inform decision-making.
  • Prepare timely and accurate donor reports, internal updates, and documentation of lessons learned.
  • Ensure integration of feedback and complaints mechanisms into FSL programming.

5.  Resource Mobilization

  • Contribute to proposal writing and program design for new FSL projects in collaboration with the program development team.
  • Support donor mapping and fundraising efforts related to food security and livelihoods.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University degree in Agriculture, Economics, Rural Development, Food Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in FSL program implementation, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
  • Proven experience in managing cash-based interventions, income-generating activities, and market systems.
  • Strong knowledge of food security frameworks, assessments, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication, writing reports, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of local language(s) is an advantage.

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in insecure environments.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Kobo, ODK, SPSS, or Excel for data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with donor regulations (e.g., ECHO, USAID, WFP, FAO, etc.).
