Job Summary
The Case Management Officer is responsible for leading the end-to-end support process for vulnerable individuals and survivors of protection-related incidents. This role involves conducting professional assessments, developing tailored intervention plans, and coordinating a multidisciplinary network of services to ensure every client receives comprehensive, dignified, and confidential care.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Case Management & Support
- Survivor-Centered Care: Deliver high-quality, confidential case management services that prioritize the safety, wishes, and rights of the survivor at every stage.
- Assessment & Intake: Conduct thorough risk assessments and intake interviews to identify immediate needs and develop specialized intervention strategies.
- Action Planning: Design and implement individualized case plans, ensuring regular reviews and adjustments based on the client’s progress and evolving needs.
- Psychosocial First Aid: Provide immediate emotional support and basic counseling to individuals in distress, fostering a safe environment for healing.
Coordination & Referral Systems
- Integrated Referrals: Facilitate and track timely referrals to a network of health, legal, shelter, and livelihood service providers, ensuring no gaps in the continuum of care.
- Network Strengthening: Engage with community protection committees and local stakeholders to reinforce community-based support structures.
- Case Closure: Manage the professional conclusion of cases and follow-up monitoring in strict adherence to international Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Documentation & Professional Standards
- Information Management: Maintain meticulous, encrypted, and up-to-date case files, ensuring that data protection and confidentiality are never compromised.
- Analytical Reporting: Prepare high-quality activity reports that reflect protection trends while safeguarding the anonymity of all clients.
- Advocacy & Monitoring: Contribute to broader protection monitoring and community awareness initiatives to prevent future protection risks.
Candidate Profile: Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Gender Studies, or a related Social Science field.
- Professional History: 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience in case management, GBV programming, or protection within the humanitarian sector.
- Sector Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the “survivor-centered approach” and global Inter-Agency Case Management guidelines.
- Environmental Context: Prior experience working in emergency or high-pressure humanitarian settings is a significant asset.
- Language: Professional fluency in English; the ability to communicate in local languages of the Northeast is highly desirable.
