Location: Adamawa State (Mubi North, Mubi South, Michika, and Maiha LGAs)
Organization: Alimat Care Foundation (ACF)
Application Deadline: January 15, 2026
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-site
The Impact of This Role
In conflict-affected and underserved regions, access to reproductive health information is not just a service—it is a fundamental human right that saves lives. As the SRHR Project Officer, you will be the driving force behind interventions that empower young women and adolescents to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures. By breaking down cultural barriers and strengthening community health links, you are helping to dismantle the cycles of inequality that hold back the next generation of girls in Northeast Nigeria.
Job Summary
The SRHR Project Officer is responsible for the frontline execution of our reproductive health initiatives across four key local government areas in Adamawa. Your mission is to bridge the gap between vulnerable populations and quality healthcare services through high-impact community engagement, stakeholder coordination, and advocacy. You will ensure that every project activity is delivered with a focus on gender inclusion and accountability to the people we serve.
Key Responsibilities
I. Project Implementation and Field Coordination
- Direct Execution: Lead the day-to-day rollout of SRHR activities, ensuring all interventions align with approved timelines, budgets, and technical standards.
- Community Advocacy: Design and facilitate interactive sessions, town hall dialogues, and training workshops on SRHR topics for adolescents, youth, and community influencers.
- Health Linkages: Proactively establish and maintain referral pathways between community members and reproductive health service providers.
II. Quality Assurance and Inclusion
- Mainstreaming GESI & AAP: Ensure that Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) are integrated into every stage of the project.
- Safeguarding: Act as a champion for protection and ethical standards, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and with respect for participant dignity.
- Feedback Systems: Oversee community-based feedback mechanisms to ensure project adjustments are informed by the voices of the beneficiaries.
III. Reporting, Documentation, and Representation
- Impact Tracking: Capture success stories, case studies, and lessons learned to illustrate the qualitative impact of our work.
- Technical Reporting: Compile comprehensive activity reports and contribute data-driven insights for donor and internal reviews.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent ACF in local coordination meetings, building strong working relationships with government agencies and other NGOs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field of development.
- Professional Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience implementing rights-based projects, specifically focusing on adolescent health or GBV (Gender-Based Violence) in humanitarian or fragile contexts.
- Technical Skills: * Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a mandatory requirement.
- Deep understanding of the VAPP Law, SRHR frameworks, and the socio-cultural landscape of Northern Nigeria.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional facilitation skills with the ability to translate complex health concepts into culturally appropriate local messaging.
- Physical & Cultural Readiness: Ability to work independently in low-resource environments and a willingness to travel extensively across the designated LGAs.
Why This Job is Important
For many girls in Adamawa, the information you provide will be their first exposure to their legal rights and health options. This role is essential because it transforms policy into practice; it moves SRHR from a concept in a manual to a reality in a community. By facilitating these conversations, you are creating a protective environment where girls can thrive, stay in school, and contribute to their society without the fear of harmful practices or health neglect.
