Job Summary

The Church & Public Relations Officer is a strategic fundraising and partnership role dedicated to securing the financial resources necessary to execute the Society’s projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding our donor base, representing the organization within various Christian denominations, and contributing to the planning of high-impact programs that drive organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Resource Mobilization

Project Funding: Take a lead role in generating financial support for the Society’s diverse translation, publishing, and distribution projects.
New Member Acquisition: Actively identify and recruit new donors and members to expand the organization’s reach and sustainability.
Proposal Development: Draft sophisticated, high-impact letters and project proposals designed to secure institutional and individual endorsements.

Donor & Stakeholder Relations

Member Stewardship: Maintain and enhance relationships with existing donors, ensuring they receive exceptional service and remain engaged with our mission.
Ecumenical Engagement: Serve as a representative of the Society at church fellowships and Christian bodies, advocating for support across all denominations in the spirit of unity.
Strategic Management: Oversee a dedicated portfolio of members, ensuring their long-term commitment and maximum endorsement of our organizational goals.

Programmatic Support & Marketing

Event Planning: Contribute as an active team member in the conceptualization and execution of organizational programs and public events.
Public Representation: Utilize professional public speaking and marketing skills to present the Society’s mission to diverse audiences.
Adaptive Support: Assist with various administrative and operational tasks essential to the smooth functioning and overall success of the BSN.

Personnel Specification & Requirements

Academic Background: A University Degree or HND in the Social Sciences or Humanities. A minimum of a Second Class Lower Division or Lower Credit is mandatory.
Proven Expertise: A demonstrable track record in marketing, sales, or fundraising, with a history of consistently meeting and exceeding targets.
Communication Mastery: Exceptional command of the English language, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce flawless documentation.
Digital & Technical Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Skills in digital marketing and social media engagement are highly desirable.
Relational Skills: Outstanding ability to manage interpersonal relationships and navigate the diverse landscape of Christian denominations with tact and professionalism.
Core Competencies: A collaborative team-player mindset combined with the resilience to work toward ambitious resource-mobilization goals.
