Job Summary

SuS Pads is looking for a dedicated and skilled Seamstress/Tailor to join our production hub. Your primary role is to manufacture durable, high-quality reusable menstrual pads and hygiene products according to our specialized patterns. We aren’t looking for a long list of degrees; we are looking for someone with a passion for sewing, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to use their tailoring talent for a meaningful social cause.

Key Responsibilities

Precision Production & Quality Control

  • Sew reusable menstrual pads and related hygiene products to exact organizational quality standards.
  • Perform accurate fabric cutting based on provided patterns to ensure perfect fit and function.
  • Conduct thorough self-inspections of finished products to ensure zero defects before they reach our users.
  • Minimize material waste through smart fabric management and efficient cutting techniques.

Maintenance & Workspace Management

  • Operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance on sewing machines to ensure they stay in top working condition.
  • Maintain a highly organized, clean, and professional workspace to facilitate a smooth production flow.
  • Monitor production materials and alert the supervisor when stock is low.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Meet daily and weekly production targets to ensure we can reach as many girls as possible.
  • Suggest creative improvements to pad designs or sewing processes to make production faster or better.
  • Participate in training sessions to learn specialized techniques unique to sustainable menstrual products.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • The Skill Matters Most: You must have completed tailoring or sewing training from a recognized center or through a traditional apprenticeship.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience is preferred, but we warmly welcome talented fresh graduates of tailoring schools.
  • Formal Education: No formal school certificates are required for this role.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in simple English.
  • Location: Candidates must reside in or near: Lokogoma, Galadima, Sunnyvale, Guzape, Apo, Dutse, Gaduwa, or Guduwi.
  • Readiness: Must be available to start immediately or on very short notice.
