Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and high-energy Partnership Officer to spearhead our external engagement and resource mobilization efforts. Your primary mission is to identify, cultivate, and sustain high-impact collaborations that amplify GAIN’s reach and influence. You will act as a key ambassador for the organization, translating our vision into compelling proposals that inspire corporate, governmental, and international stakeholders to invest in Africa’s future.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Resource Mobilization
- Lead comprehensive fundraising campaigns and sponsorship drives to secure the financial health of GAIN’s youth empowerment programs.
- Actively research and identify potential donors, corporate partners, and grant-making institutions whose values align with our Pan-African mission.
- Monitor the progress of all partnership initiatives, providing detailed reports on outcomes and return on investment for stakeholders.
Relationship Management & Diplomacy
- Cultivate and nurture long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector leaders.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and poise at high-level meetings, industry conferences, and networking events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, ensuring their needs are met and their contributions are recognized.
Professional Documentation & Strategy
- Craft high-quality, persuasive partnership proposals, Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs), and formal collaboration agreements.
- Collaborate internally with program teams to ensure that all external partnerships are strategically aligned with GAIN’s core organizational objectives.
- Develop tailored presentation materials that effectively communicate the impact and scalability of our training and mentorship models.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Academic Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Professional Track Record: A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in business development, fundraising, or strategic partnership management.
- Stakeholder Expertise: Proven success in navigating complex relationships with external entities, particularly in the non-profit or development sector.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to build a compelling case for support to diverse audiences.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to influence and negotiate terms that benefit both the organization and the partner.
