In the world of humanitarian work, a story told well is a life changed. As the Media Manager for Phlorem Growth and Wellness Foundation (PGWF), you are the creative lens through which the world sees our impact—from providing clean water to ensuring food security for the underserved. This role is not just about capturing moments; it is about crafting powerful narratives that inspire compassion, mobilize donors, and give a digital voice to the vulnerable communities we serve.
Job Summary
The Media Manager is a dual-threat creative professional responsible for the foundation’s visual storytelling and digital footprint. You will transition seamlessly from the field—capturing the raw emotion of our outreaches—to the studio, where you will produce high-quality documentaries and viral social content. Your goal is to manage our online presence with strategic precision, turning followers into advocates for our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Content Creation & Documentary Production
- Lead the visual documentation of all foundation projects, capturing professional-grade photography and videography during field outreaches.
- Post-produce raw footage into compelling, long-form documentary-style videos that showcase the depth and success of our humanitarian interventions.
- Edit fast-paced, high-energy short-form video content and aesthetic graphics tailored for various social media platforms.
Digital Strategy & Community Management
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of our social media ecosystem, including content conceptualization, daily posting, and long-term scheduling.
- Proactively drive organic growth by increasing reach and fostering meaningful engagement with our digital audience.
- Ensure a cohesive and professional brand identity is maintained across all online touchpoints.
Data-Driven Storytelling & Innovation
- Collaborate with the programs and operations teams to ensure all media output aligns with specific project objectives and organizational values.
- Utilize platform analytics and audience insights to measure content effectiveness and pivot strategies for maximum impact.
- Conceptualize fresh, narrative-driven ideas that translate complex humanitarian issues into relatable and shareable digital stories.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Mass Communication, Media Production, Marketing, or a related field.
- Technical Mastery: 1–2 years of proven experience in professional video shooting and advanced editing (both long-form narratives and short-form social trends).
- Social Media Management: A track record of managing and growing organizational social media accounts with measurable results.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using social media analytics tools to optimize performance and refine content strategy.
- Industry Context: Previous experience working within an NGO or social impact environment is highly desirable.
- Personal Attributes: A proactive, creative thinker who can work independently in the field and collaboratively in a team setting.
Why This Position Matters
The Media Manager is the bridge between our field operations and the global community. By documenting our work with authenticity and emotion, you provide the “proof of impact” that builds trust with partners and donors. Your content is the primary tool that helps us scale our efforts, ensuring that more families get access to healthcare, education, and clean water.
Benefits of Applying
- Hybrid Flexibility: Enjoy a balance of field-based storytelling, office collaboration, and remote work.
- Creative Sovereignty: Take the lead on the creative direction of a growing foundation’s media department.
- Purpose-Driven Work: See the immediate impact of your work as your stories help raise support for critical humanitarian causes.
- Portfolio Building: Develop high-quality documentary and social media assets in the competitive “Tech for Good” and NGO sectors.
Position Details
- Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid)
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Salary Range: ₦100,000 – ₦150,000 per month
- Application Deadline: Rolling (Early applications encouraged)

- Highlight NGO Experience: if you have volunteered or worked with a charity before, mention how you handled the sensitivities of filming vulnerable people.
