The National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) is Nigeria’s statutory and chartered prestigious body for eminent credit management elites. We are seeking a high-achieving Legal/HR Assistant—a qualified lawyer with a passion for human capital—to support our regulatory and institutional operations. Job Summary
The Legal/HR Assistant will provide dual-functional support, ensuring the Institute’s HR practices are legally sound while driving excellence in employee relations. You will be responsible for managing employee engagement, overseeing performance appraisal systems, and providing administrative support for legal and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate is a brilliant, extroverted legal professional who can navigate the complexities of labor laws and institutional policy with precision, humility, and a result-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Institutional Governance: Assist in ensuring that all HR and administrative operations comply with the Institute’s chartered mandate and Nigerian labor laws.
- Performance Management: Develop and implement robust performance management frameworks to maintain the Institute’s culture of excellence and hard work.
- Employee Engagement: Act as a proactive facilitator for staff relations, ensuring a harmonious and productive work environment for all employees.
- Legal Drafting & Support: Assist in the preparation of legal documents, contracts, and regulatory communications related to the credit management profession.
- HR Administration: Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to compliance and policy documentation.
- Executive Liaison: Provide high-level executive support, handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professional integrity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Academic Excellence: A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) with a minimum of Upper Credit (2.1).
- Professional Status: Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar (B.L.) and completed the mandatory NYSC program.
- Experience: Approximately 2 years of post-call experience, preferably with exposure to HR management or corporate law.
- Personality & Traits: We are looking for an exceptionally brilliant, intelligent, and extroverted person. You must possess a vibrant work culture and the ability to engage confidently with elite stakeholders.
- Competencies: Highly skillful in executive functions, result-oriented, and dedicated to hard work, while maintaining a sense of professional humility.

- Salary Range: ₦200,000 – ₦300,000 per month

- Location Requirements: To ensure seamless attendance and operational efficiency, applications are specifically requested from residents of the following Lagos areas: Lekki, Ajah, Badore, Ado Road, Ogombo Town, Victoria Island, Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos Island, or other surrounding areas with easy access to Lagos Island.
