Job Summary

The Country Logistics Officer is responsible for the comprehensive design, implementation, and oversight of CFCI’s logistics and supply chain framework. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will manage everything from high-level procurement and vendor relations to field-level warehouse operations and vehicle fleet safety. Your goal is to create a seamless, transparent, and highly efficient logistical network that empowers our program teams to deliver maximum impact.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operations: Plan and synchronize end-to-end logistics cycles, ensuring that the movement of goods and services is perfectly timed with project requirements.
  • Transparent Procurement: Lead the procurement lifecycle, from initial sourcing and tender management to vendor selection and contract oversight, ensuring full adherence to donor and organizational ethics.
  • Multi-Site Warehouse Oversight: Manage and optimize warehouse facilities at both the country and field levels, ensuring rigorous inventory controls and safety standards are maintained.
  • Fleet & Transport Management: Direct the organization’s vehicle fleet, overseeing maintenance schedules, fuel management, and transport routing to ensure the safe and timely movement of staff and supplies.
  • Asset Stewardship: Maintain a meticulous national asset register, conducting regular physical verification exercises to safeguard organizational and donor-funded equipment.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all logistical activities meet the stringent requirements of international donors and provide data-driven reports to the leadership team.

Candidate Profile: Skills & Qualifications

  • Academic Background: A University Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related professional field.
  • Proven Experience: 3 to 5 years of demonstrated success in logistics or operations management, with a clear history of career progression.
  • Technical Breadth: Comprehensive experience across all four pillars of logistics: procurement, warehousing, fleet management, and asset control.
  • Sector Expertise: Significant experience working with donor-funded projects (e.g., UN, USAID, NHF) is highly desirable and preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience navigating ERP or specialized logistics management software.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the resilience to work in a high-pressure humanitarian context.
