Job Summary

The Country Finance Officer is responsible for the strategic financial management and day-to-day fiscal oversight of CFCI’s operations, with a primary focus on the warehousing and logistics sector. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will manage complex budgets, ensure meticulous donor compliance, and provide the analytical insights necessary to maintain a cost-effective and accountable humanitarian supply chain.

Core Responsibilities

  • Budgetary Oversight: Monitor and control multi-site warehouse and logistics budgets, ensuring all expenditures align with approved project plans and organizational goals.
  • Financial Processing: Review and verify payment requests related to logistical operations, ensuring all transactions are backed by accurate documentation and authorized according to policy.
  • Asset & Equipment Tracking: Lead the financial tracking of warehouse assets and high-value equipment, ensuring accurate depreciation records and safeguarding against financial loss.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee strict adherence to CFCI’s internal financial manuals and the specific fiscal regulations of international donors (such as NHF, USAID, or UN agencies).
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed, high-quality financial reports focused on warehouse and logistics costs, providing management with clear data for strategic decision-making.
  • Audit Readiness: Maintain impeccable financial records and supporting documentation to ensure the organization is always prepared for internal and external audits.

Candidate Profile: Skills & Qualifications

  • Academic Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Professional Certification: A professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or CPA) is highly desirable and considered a significant advantage.
  • Relevant Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with a preference for those who have worked within the NGO or humanitarian ecosystem.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience in managing complex budgets, particularly those involving logistics, supply chain, or large-scale commodity management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of accounting software and Microsoft Excel (complex modeling, pivot tables, and financial analysis).
  • Personal Integrity: An uncompromising commitment to transparency, ethical financial practices, and confidentiality.
