By leading a dedicated team in Kebbi State, you ensure that vulnerable populations—especially malnourished children—receive treatment that meets international humanitarian standards. Job Summary

The Nursing Team Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight, coordination, and evaluation of nursing activities within MSF-supported facilities. You will lead a team of nurses and nutrition assistants to provide seamless healthcare delivery, ensuring clinical protocols are followed precisely while optimizing resources to improve patient outcomes in both emergency and stabilized settings.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

  • Clinical Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise and support the nursing team to ensure all patient care—from triage to stabilization—is performed with clinical accuracy and empathy.
  • Operational Management: Organize department workflows, including staff scheduling, shift handovers, and leave management, to guarantee 24/7 coverage.
  • Pharmacy & Supply Oversight: Manage decentralized pharmacy stocks and medical equipment, ensuring proper inventory tracking and preventing the shortage of essential medicines.
  • Capacity Building: Identify skill gaps and provide hands-on coaching and bedside training for nursing and nutrition staff to elevate the standard of care.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Enforce strict hygiene, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and medical protocols to safeguard patients and staff.
  • Data Management: Oversee the collection and analysis of medical data (patient files, statistics, and exit papers) to provide accurate reports for project decision-making.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • Education: Recognized Degree or Diploma in Nursing. Specialized training in Midwifery or Anaesthesia is a plus.
  • Licensing: Must possess a currently valid practicing certificate from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience. Experience within an MSF project or another international medical NGO is highly desirable.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required. Fluency in local languages (Hausa/Kanuri) is highly advantageous.
  • Mindset: Deep commitment to humanitarian principles, flexibility to be deployed for emergencies, and the ability to lead diverse teams under pressure.
