In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital empowerment, the efficiency of our administrative core determines the scale of our impact on young women across Africa. This Virtual Assistant role is the heartbeat of our daily operations, ensuring that our mentors and mentees experience a seamless, professional, and supportive journey. By managing the vital logistics and communications behind the scenes, you enable our leadership to focus on the strategic growth that changes lives, making your contribution essential to the success of our mentorship mission.
Job Summary
Inspire Her Afrika is looking for a proactive and highly organized Virtual Assistant to serve as a central support pillar for our remote team. In this role, you will act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, manage complex scheduling, and oversee the administrative flow of our programs. Your goal is to ensure that every email, event, and internal record reflects our commitment to excellence and professional empowerment.
Why This Role is Important
As a remote-first organization, our digital “office” is where our community thrives. The Virtual Assistant ensures this space remains functional and welcoming; without your coordination, the vital links between mentors and their students could be disrupted. You are the guardian of our professional reputation, ensuring that every interaction—from the first acceptance letter to the final mastery session—is handled with care and precision.
Key Responsibilities
Communication & Liaison
- Inquiry Management: Act as the first point of contact by managing the organizational inbox and responding professionally to all internal and external queries.
- Stakeholder Outreach: Identify and initiate contact with potential partner organizations and guest speakers to enrich our mastery sessions.
- Community Relations: Draft and dispatch vital program communications, including onboarding materials, acceptance notices, and program updates for both mentors and mentees.
Logistics & Event Coordination
- Event Planning: Develop comprehensive agendas, registration systems, and interactive tools (like quizzes and feedback forms) for our digital events.
- Schedule Management: Oversee the master Google Calendar, ensuring all team meetings, mentorship sessions, and community milestones (like birthdays) are accurately tracked.
- Administrative Support: Attend team meetings to capture detailed minutes and ensure that action items are documented and followed up on.
Candidate Profile: What Skills are Needed?
- Professional Background: A Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) and prior experience in an administrative or virtual support capacity.
- Digital Literacy: High proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), Zoom, and collaborative project management platforms like Asana or Trello.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional command of English, both written and verbal, with a knack for professional storytelling.
- Personal Attributes: A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle multiple priorities independently while meeting strict deadlines.
- Growth Mindset: While experience is valued, we prioritize candidates who show deep alignment with our mission and a relentless willingness to learn.
Benefits of Joining the Team
- Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere in a fully digital environment that respects your work-life balance.
- Professional Network: Gain unique access to a high-level network of African mentors and global industry leaders.
- Social Impact: Be part of a purpose-driven organization that is actively closing the gender gap in the African professional sector.
- Career Development: Hands-on experience in nonprofit administration with opportunities for increased responsibility as the organization scales.
Salary & Compensation
Competitive (This is a contract-based remote position with compensation based on experience and commitment levels).
