Job Summary
The Finance Intern provides essential operational support to our accounting department, assisting with the meticulous documentation and reporting required in a high-stakes, donor-funded environment. This role is designed for a detail-oriented individual eager to bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical realities of nonprofit financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Documentation & Record-Keeping
- Transaction Entry: Assist in the daily recording of financial activities, ensuring all entries are accurate and categorized correctly.
- Audit Readiness: Organize and archive physical and digital supporting documents to ensure the organization remains prepared for internal and external audits.
- Reconciliation Support: Assist the senior finance team with monthly bank and cash reconciliations to maintain balance sheet integrity.
Operational & Procurement Support
- Payment Processing: Support the verification of procurement requests and ensure that all payment vouchers meet organizational and donor compliance standards.
- Budget Tracking: Assist in monitoring project expenses against approved budgets, helping to identify and report variances.
- Administrative Synergy: Collaborate on general administrative tasks that support the overall efficiency of the Lagos office.
Candidate Profile: Who Can Apply?

- Education: A recent degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related numerical field.
