Job Summary
The Driver/Logistics Assistant is responsible for managing day-to-day transport operations, including the coordination of vehicles and drivers. The role ensures the safety of staff members, compliance with national legal guidelines for automobile operations, and the timely maintenance of the fleet. The officer also supports the movement of goods and supplies across the organization’s supported sites.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics and Fleet Management
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities and schedules of drivers.
- Responsible for dispatching and ensuring the proper loading of program vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicle logbooks are accurately filled and submitted monthly for financial review.
- Coordinate timely maintenance and repairs for all company vehicles.
- Provide regular reports on the working condition of vehicles and equipment.
- Serve as a driver when required to support program needs.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere strictly to security and operational procedures.
- File formal reports for any delays, incidents, or accidents.
- Ensure compliance with both organizational and national legal guidelines for vehicle care.
Mentorship and Communication
- Provide mentorship to drivers to ensure driving skills meet organizational standards.
- Maintain open communication with drivers, program staff, and management regarding transport needs.
Additional Duties
- Perform other related duties within the transport department as required.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a National Diploma, NCE, or equivalent qualification.
- Possession of a valid Driving License, including authorization for Class D vehicles.
- Over five years of professional driving experience in a reputable organization.
- Certificate in Logistics and Fleet Management is an added advantage.
- Possession of a Trade Test certificate is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Basic technical knowledge of automobiles for reporting purposes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
