At My NGO Jobs, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in humanitarian recruitment. To protect job seekers and the trust people place in our platform, everyone who posts a vacancy or uses candidate information on My NGO Jobs must follow this Job Posting Policy. This includes recruiters with an account, organisations that submit a vacancy through our posting form, and our own team when we post a vacancy on behalf of an organisation.

By submitting a vacancy or using a recruiter account, you confirm that you have read this policy and agree to it, together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

1. Who May Post

  • Recruiter accounts. Anyone can register as a recruiter, but every account is reviewed and approved by our team before it can be used. Each approved recruiter is linked to one organisation. We may ask for proof that you work for it, and we recommend registering with your organisation email address.
  • The posting form. If you post through our public form, you confirm that you are authorised by the organisation named in the vacancy. Posting for an organisation you do not represent is not allowed.
  • Posts by our team. We sometimes publish a vacancy on behalf of an organisation, based on its official announcement. The organisation remains responsible for the vacancy and can ask us to correct or remove it at any time by emailing support@myngojobs.com.

2. Zero Tolerance for Recruitment Fees and Payment Requests

My NGO Jobs strictly prohibits any job posting that requires a candidate to pay, or hand over anything of value, at any stage of the recruitment process.

  • We do not allow “application fees,” “processing fees,” “medical clearance fees,” “training fees,” “security deposits,” or requests for airtime, gift cards or mobile-money transfers.
  • You must not ask candidates for bank card details, PINs, passwords, BVN or any other information that can be used to access their money.
  • Any organisation or person found requesting money from candidates will be permanently banned from our ecosystem, including Relief Scholars and our partner networks.

3. Real and Current Vacancies

Every job posted must represent a real, current opening within a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), International Organization (INGO), or Development Partner.

  • No “Ghost” Jobs: Postings must not be used solely for “CV mining” or data collection without an active intent to hire.
  • Accuracy: The job title, location (e.g., Abuja, Maiduguri, Kano), job type, salary information and application deadline must be accurate and clearly stated.
  • Keep it current: If a position is filled or cancelled before its deadline, tell us so we can close the vacancy.

4. Job Requirements Must Be Honest

When you post a vacancy we ask for a job category, a minimum qualification, an experience level, required skills and any mandatory requirements. We use these details to recommend jobs to candidates and to match candidates to your vacancy, so they must reflect the real job.

  • Choose the category that truly fits the role.
  • List only skills that are actually needed for the work.
  • Mandatory requirements (for example, a professional licence or registration) must really be compulsory for the role. You must not use them to hide a payment request, to collect documents you do not need, or to unfairly exclude groups of people.
  • We may correct a category or other details to keep recommendations and matching accurate.

5. Prohibited Content

We will immediately remove any posting that contains:

  • Discriminatory language based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, age, or disability (unless a specific requirement is a legal occupational requirement, for example for field safety).
  • Misleading or deceptive claims about salary, benefits or the employer.
  • Links to unofficial or suspicious application portals.
  • Impersonation of another organisation, or use of an organisation’s name or logo without authority.
  • Requests for more personal information than is reasonably needed to apply.
  • Schemes such as pyramid or multi-level marketing, betting, loans, or adult or prohibited services.

6. How We Review Vacancies

Every vacancy is reviewed by our team before it goes live. We aim to complete reviews within 6 hours, but it can take longer. We check what we reasonably can, such as the organisation’s official website, email address and application link. We may edit formatting and categories, reject a vacancy, or remove it at any time, with or without notice.

Reviewing a vacancy does not guarantee that it is genuine. Please read our Disclaimer.

7. Using Candidate Information (Recruiters and Employers)

Candidates on My NGO Jobs choose whether approved recruiters may see their profile. If you use candidate information, you must:

  • Use it only to recruit for real vacancies at the organisation your account is linked to.
  • Not copy, scrape, export, sell, publish or share candidate details outside your hiring team.
  • Not use candidate contact details for marketing, surveys, fundraising or any purpose other than recruitment.
  • Keep the information secure, never share your login, and delete candidate details when you no longer need them for recruitment.
  • Follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and related rules. Once you receive a candidate’s information you are responsible for how you use it.
  • Tell us straight away at support@myngojobs.com if you suspect that candidate information has been lost, stolen or misused.

8. Match Scores Are a Guide, Not a Decision

  • A match score compares what a candidate wrote on their profile with the requirements you entered. It is a guide to help you find people worth a closer look.
  • Nothing on a candidate’s profile is verified by My NGO Jobs. A high score does not mean a candidate holds a required licence, registration or qualification. You must check documents and references yourself.
  • Do not reject or hire anyone because of a score alone. A person in your organisation must make the decision, fairly and without discrimination.

9. Fair and Equal Opportunity

Recruiters must treat all candidates fairly. Vacancies and hiring decisions must not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or any other unlawful ground.

10. Application Methods

To protect candidates, vacancies must let people apply through at least one of these:

  • The official website or application portal of the organisation (for example, unicef.org or msf.org).
  • A professional HR email address, ideally on the organisation’s own domain.
  • A physical office address where documents can be submitted.

Applications must never be directed to payment links, personal chat accounts or unofficial portals.

11. Standard for Regional Postings (Northern Nigeria)

For roles in high-impact zones such as Borno, Yobe, Zamfara and Adamawa, recruiters are encouraged to specify safety protocols or residency requirements to ensure the well-being of candidates and the success of the mission.

12. What Happens If This Policy Is Broken

  • The vacancy will be removed.
  • The recruiter account and the organisation may be suspended or permanently banned.
  • We may warn affected candidates and share the ban with our partner platforms.
  • Where the law may have been broken, we may report the matter to the relevant authorities.

13. Reporting Fraud or Misuse

If you meet a suspicious vacancy on our platform, or you believe candidate information is being misused, please report it immediately to support@myngojobs.com. We aim to start looking into every report within 24 hours.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If you keep posting or using a recruiter account after a change, you accept the updated policy.
