- Receiving & Dispatch: Support physical verification of commodities with vendors; ensure all delivery notes and waybills are accurately signed and issued.
- Reverse Logistics: Manage the counting, sorting, and documentation of all medicines returned to the CMS after distribution rounds.
- Waste Management: Ensure clear separation and labelling of empty bottles from unused stock.
- Stock Assessment: Participate in monthly physical stock status assessments at the State Central Medical Store.
- Reconciliation: Support post-LMD Proof of Delivery (PoD) reconciliation and maintain organized filing of all transaction documents.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS
Mandatory Requirements
- Education: Minimum of Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
- Experience: At least one year of working experience in Commodity Logistics and supply management.
- IT Skills: Must be computer literate (basic data entry and reporting).
- Work Style: Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work beyond normal hours during peak distribution periods.
Desirable Assets
- Public Health Logistics: Prior experience in the “pick and pack” of public health commodities is a strong advantage.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Kebbi State Central Medical Store (CMS) environment.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
- Timely completion of pick-and-pack tasks (4 days before LMD).
- Fully collated and filed duplicate PoDs and AZM transaction documents.
- Updated reverse logistics reports submitted within 2 days of round completion.
- Reconciled stock reports for non-medicine commodities.

Success Blueprint: Logistics Assistant (Malaria Consortium)
The Logistics Assistant role is the backbone of the SARMAAN II distribution cycle. Malaria Consortium is looking for someone with “High Attention to Detail” who can handle the physical and administrative demands of a medical warehouse.
1. Highlight “Pick and Pack” Precision
The job description explicitly mentions “pick and pack” several times.
- The Strategy: In your application, describe your experience in high-volume warehouse environments. Mention how you ensure accuracy when counting thousands of units (like AZM bottles) to prevent stock-outs or wastage.
- Action: Use terms like “Inventory accuracy,” “Batch tracking,” and “Zero-error picking.”
2. Focus on “Reverse Logistics”
A unique part of this role is the “counting and documentation of AZM reversed to the CMS.”
- Success Factor: Show that you are skilled at reconciliation. Discuss how you handle “returned stock” and your process for ensuring that what went out to the field matches what came back.
- Keywords: “Reverse logistics,” “Stock reconciliation,” “POD (Proof of Delivery) filing,” “Waybill management.”
3. Emphasize “Last Mile Distribution” (LMD)
The goal of SARMAAN II is getting medicine to the community.
- The Context: You will be working with vendors and LMCU (Logistics Management Coordination Unit) staff.
- Action: Highlight your ability to work collaboratively with external vendors and government storekeepers. Mention your “strong service mentality.”
4. Technical Literacy (The “Computer” Requirement)
Even as a warehouse-based role, you must be “computer literate.”
- Strategy: Mention your ability to use Microsoft Excel for tracking stock status or preparing simple logistics reports. This is often the skill that separates the top candidates from the rest for Malaria Consortium.
5. Flexibility and Resilience
Distribution rounds are often intense and time-sensitive.
- The Ask: The job requires working “beyond normal working hours” and “under pressure.”
- Action: Mention a specific instance where you worked late or through a weekend to meet a project deadline. This proves you have the “stamina” for the distribution rounds.
6. Final Application Checklist
- [ ] SSCE Certificate: Ensure your academic qualification is clearly stated.
- [ ] Experience: Do you have the 1 year of logistics experience required?
- [ ] Kebbi Based: Confirm your availability and proximity to the Kebbi State CMS.
- [ ] No Hardcopies: Remember, do not submit a physical CV. Use the online link provided by Malaria Consortium.
You are the guardian of the supply chain. Apply with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
