Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and highly responsible Professional Driver to join our Ondo team. Your primary purpose is to provide seamless transportation for staff, visitors, and vital project materials. The successful candidate will be a proactive professional who takes pride in vehicle maintenance, values punctuality, and maintains a flawless safety record while representing the values of the Beyond Beans Foundation on the road.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics Excellence

• Safe Transit: Execute the secure transport of foundation personnel, international guests, and essential goods to diverse locations, ensuring a smooth and professional experience.
• Route Efficiency: Adhere to designated travel schedules while utilizing your knowledge of local geography to navigate safely and avoid unnecessary delays.
• Loading Support: Actively assist in the careful loading and unloading of project materials, ensuring items are secured and handled with care.

Vehicle Stewardship & Maintenance

• Preventative Care: Perform rigorous daily inspections of vehicle fluids, tires, lighting systems, and brakes to guarantee the vehicle is always in peak operating condition.
• Hygiene & Upkeep: Maintain a pristine interior and exterior vehicle environment, reflecting the professional standards of the organization.
• Mechanical Reporting: Identify and immediately document any mechanical concerns or wear-and-tear to the supervisor to prevent operational downtime.
• Compliance Management: Monitor the expiration dates of all vehicle documentation, including insurance, roadworthiness certificates, and registrations, ensuring 100% legal compliance at all times.

Reporting & Administration

• Data Logging: Maintain precise, up-to-date logbooks for every journey, documenting mileage, fuel consumption, and trip purposes with high accuracy.
• Operational Flexibility: Support the broader team with various logistical tasks as assigned by the supervisor to ensure project goals are met.

What Skills & Qualifications are Needed?

• Academic Foundation: Completion of Secondary School education (SSCE) or its equivalent.
• Licensing: Possession of a valid, clean Nigerian Driver’s License.
• Sector Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of professional driving experience. Candidates with a background in corporate environments or NGOs are highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance checks.
• Navigation Skills: Proficiency in using GPS technology and modern navigation apps to optimize travel routes.
• Soft Skills: High levels of integrity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure or during tight schedules.
