Requirements and Qualifications
The following are suggested requirements based on the nature of the position:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution.
- Current registration and a valid practising licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Relevant clinical experience in nursing, midwifery, or reproductive and maternal health services.
- Knowledge of antenatal care, postnatal care, safe delivery practices, and newborn care.
- Experience providing basic healthcare services to women, newborns, and children.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, patient safety, and medical ethics.
- Ability to identify complications and refer patients requiring advanced medical care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and patient documentation.
- Commitment to confidentiality, respectful care, and professional conduct.
- Ability to work effectively in humanitarian or emergency settings.
Experience supporting internally displaced persons, vulnerable women, and conflict-affected communities would be an advantage.
