Requirements and Qualifications
The following are suggested requirements based on the nature of the position:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and current practising licence from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Relevant clinical experience in a hospital, primary healthcare facility, or humanitarian health programme.
- Knowledge of diagnosing and managing common illnesses, emergency cases, and communicable diseases.
- Understanding of maternal, newborn, and child health services.
- Ability to provide quality patient care, maintain accurate medical records, and follow clinical protocols.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, patient safety, and medical ethics.
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work with nurses, midwives, pharmacists, community health workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Willingness to work in a challenging humanitarian environment.
Experience providing healthcare services to internally displaced persons, vulnerable populations, and conflict-affected communities would be an advantage.
