About the Organization

The Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a Nigerian non-profit and non-governmental organisation committed to tackling poverty and fostering peace in communities affected by conflict, especially in North-East Nigeria. Established on 11 July 2014, the foundation was born out of lived experience—founded by survivors of insurgency alongside compassionate individuals determined to restore hope and dignity through humanitarian and development-driven interventions.

At its core, LPF envisions a Nigeria free from poverty, where people live in peace and mutual respect. To bring this vision to life, the organisation focuses on several critical areas:

Health and Nutrition:
LPF delivers lifesaving healthcare services through mobile clinics, medical outreaches, and outpatient therapeutic programmes (OTP), particularly targeting malnourished children in vulnerable communities.

Protection:
The foundation provides support to victims of violence—especially women and children—through counselling, psychosocial services, and advocacy aimed at building a safer, violence-free society.

WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene):
Through the rehabilitation of water systems, including solar-powered boreholes, and the promotion of hygiene practices, LPF helps prevent the spread of diseases such as Acute Watery Diarrhoea.

Food Security and Livelihoods:
LPF empowers communities by offering seed grants, food assistance, and training in small-scale agriculture, helping families rebuild sustainable livelihoods.

In terms of reach, the foundation operates mainly in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states in the North-East, while also extending its impact to parts of the North-West, including Sokoto, Zamfara, and Katsina. LPF collaborates with key international partners such as UNICEF, UN OCHA, and the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), strengthening its capacity to deliver impactful programs.

The organisation was co-founded by Lydia Lindii Adams, a central figure in its leadership and advocacy efforts. Its headquarters is located at Suite A7 & A8, Otnam Plaza, No. 11 Bama Road, Maiduguri, Borno State.
