Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization providing medical assistance to vulnerable populations without discrimination. MSF operates across Nigeria, supporting critical health interventions including nutrition, malaria, and maternal care programs.
Position Overview
MSF is recruiting a Driver responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of staff, patients, and goods, while ensuring full compliance with MSF safety, logistics, and security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tires, brakes, equipment)
- Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained
- Safely transport authorized passengers and goods in line with traffic laws and MSF protocols
- Verify passenger documentation and ensure compliance with travel requirements
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper documentation and delivery tracking
- Maintain accurate movement logs, fuel records, and vehicle documentation
- Communicate regularly with base using radio systems and follow communication protocols
- Report any incidents, breakdowns, or security concerns immediately
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, IPC, and security procedures
- Support vehicle servicing and participate in driver coordination meetings
Requirements
Education
- Minimum: Basic literacy and valid driver’s license
- Good knowledge of local and national road networks
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years driving experience
- Experience with 4×4 vehicles or similar is an advantage
- Previous NGO/MSF experience is desirable
Languages
- Essential: English
- Desirable: Local languages
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Fixed-term (6 months)
- Working Hours: 208 hours/month
- Salary: According to MSF salary scale + 13th month allowance
