Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization providing emergency healthcare to populations in need—regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. MSF has been operational in Katsina State since 2021, delivering critical nutrition and medical services across multiple facilities.

​Position Overview

​MSF is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Assistant to support the efficient management of pharmaceutical supplies and ensure the proper functioning of the central pharmacy and field distribution systems in line with MSF protocols.

​Key Responsibilities

  • ​Maintain proper storage and hygiene conditions in the pharmacy
  • ​Assist in stock organization, inventory control, and documentation
  • ​Prepare and dispatch medical supplies to supported health facilities
  • ​Support drug dispensing and verify prescriptions where necessary
  • ​Ensure compliance with pharmacy security and stock control procedures
  • ​Monitor stock levels and report low or expiring items promptly
  • ​Participate in receiving and verifying incoming supplies
  • ​Report any damage, loss, or theft of medical items immediately

​Requirements

​Education

  • Essential: Pharmacy Technical Diploma
  • Desirable: Additional pharmacy or medical-related studies

​Experience

  • ​Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
  • ​Experience with MSF or other NGOs is an added advantage

​Languages

  • Essential: Hausa and English
  • ​Additional mission languages are a plus

​Skills & Competencies

  • ​Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet)
  • ​Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • ​High attention to detail and quality standards
  • ​Flexibility and commitment to humanitarian principles
  • ​Ability to manage stress and work in dynamic environments

​Contract Details

  • Contract Type: Fixed-term (6 months)
  • Working Hours: 208 hours/month
  • Remuneration: Based on MSF salary scale + 13th month allowance
