Zen Jem Limited is recruiting field personnel for the Pregnancy Cohort Method (PCM) Study under the Maternal Mortality Research (MMR) Project in Kano State.
Job Summary
Zen Jem Limited is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Data Collector under the MMR Project in Kano State.
The successful candidates will conduct household visits to recruit eligible pregnant women, administer interviews, carry out scheduled follow-up visits, and collect accurate data throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. They will also maintain positive community relationships and ensure participant confidentiality throughout the research process.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit eligible study participants within assigned communities.
- Conduct informed consent procedures in accordance with approved study protocols.
- Administer baseline and follow-up interviews using designated data collection tools.
- Conduct regular participant follow-up visits according to project schedules.
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and quality of all collected data.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with study participants and community leaders.
- Track participant movement and report changes that may affect follow-up activities.
- Safeguard participant confidentiality and comply with research ethics.
- Report field challenges to supervisors promptly.
- Submit completed interviews and daily activity reports within specified timelines.
Educational Qualifications and Experience
Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE).
- Previous experience in survey research, community mobilisation, or household data collection.
Required Skills and Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Native-level fluency in Hausa.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use smartphones or tablets for electronic data collection.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Respect for participant confidentiality and research ethics.
- Ability to engage respectfully with community members.
- Residence within Kano State is an added advantage.
