The Volunteer Coordinator at the Children Against Torture and Crime Foundation will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support the organization\’s programs and activities. This role involves developing volunteer opportunities, ensuring a positive volunteer experience, and maintaining strong relationships with volunteers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials to raise awareness about volunteer opportunities.
  • Conduct outreach to schools, universities, community organizations, and other potential sources of volunteers.

Volunteer Training & Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to prepare volunteers for their roles.
  • Provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities for volunteers.
  • Ensure volunteers are informed about the foundation\’s mission, policies, and procedures.

Volunteer Management:

  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments to ensure effective program support.
  • Monitor and evaluate volunteer performance, providing feedback and recognition as needed.
  • Address any issues or concerns that arise with volunteers in a timely and professional manner.

Volunteer Engagement & Retention:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer environment.
  • Organize volunteer appreciation events and activities to recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions.
  • Implement strategies to retain volunteers and maintain high levels of volunteer satisfaction.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with program managers to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure volunteers are integrated into the foundation\’s activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance volunteer recruitment and engagement.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records, including contact information, training completion, and hours served.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on volunteer activities and outcomes to the Executive Director/CEO and the board of directors.
  •  Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to volunteer management.

Communication & Outreach:

  • Develop and manage communication channels to keep volunteers informed and engaged.
  •  Create and distribute newsletters, emails, and other communication materials for volunteers.
  •  Represent the foundation at community events and outreach activities to promote volunteer opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, management, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups of volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in volunteer management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the Children Against Torture and Crime Foundation.
