We are seeking a proactive, disciplined, and mission-driven strategist who is ready to secure the financial resources and strategic alliances necessary to scale our high-impact programs.

The Role: Partnerships & Funding Strategist

Location: Nigeria (Remote) Employment Type: Full-time

This is a high-level, remote, and outcome-based role. The Partnerships & Funding Strategist is responsible for leading GWEF’s resource mobilization efforts, diversifying funding streams, and establishing strategic partnerships with institutional donors, corporations, foundations, and international development agencies to ensure long-term financial sustainability.

Core Responsibilities (What You Will Drive)

The Strategist will own the full resource mobilization lifecycle, from identification to securing funding:

1. Strategic Donor Outreach and Partnership Building

  • Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust pipeline of potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including institutional donors (e.g., USAID, EU, UN agencies), corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, and private foundations.
  • Relationship Cultivation: Lead proactive outreach and cultivation efforts, serving as the primary relationship manager for key current and prospective funders and strategic allies.
  • Partnership Strategy: Identify, establish, and manage non-financial partnerships (e.g., in-kind, technical support) that enhance GWEF’s programmatic capacity and reach.

2. Proposal Development and Sponsorship Acquisition

  • Proposal Leadership: Lead the conceptualization, writing, and submission of high-quality, compelling, and compliant funding proposals and concept notes.
  • Sponsorships: Actively seek out and secure corporate sponsorships for specific GWEF events, training cohorts, and programmatic initiatives (e.g., TVET, RurAI, Safe Girls).
  • Budget Alignment: Work closely with the Finance team to ensure all proposed budgets are realistic, compliant with donor requirements, and accurately reflect programmatic needs.

3. Funder Communication and Compliance

  • Reporting Liaison: Maintain consistent, high-quality communication with funders and allies, ensuring timely delivery of required reports, updates, and impact narratives.
  • Compliance Oversight: Support the implementation of grant management systems to ensure compliance with donor contractual requirements, financial regulations, and reporting timelines.
  • Visibility: Ensure partners and funders receive appropriate recognition and visibility in alignment with grant agreements and GWEF’s communication strategy.

4. Financial Sustainability Strategy

  • Diversification: Develop and implement a long-term strategy for diversifying GWEF’s funding base, reducing reliance on single donors, and strengthening overall financial sustainability.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct regular scans of the funding landscape and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and positioning GWEF advantageously.
