MSF- SPAIN IS OPENING THE RECRUITMENT OF: STOREKEEPER
(BASED IN ZURMI / FIXTERM CONTRACT STARTING WITH 6 MONTHS /LEVEL 4)
Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctor without Borders (MSF), founded in 1971, is an international humanitarian organization that provides emergency medical assistance to population in danger in more than 60 countries. Main Purpose:
Under the supervision of Log Manager, (s)he is responsible for all stores management and inventory control system in the warehouse. (S)he is in overall charge of the maintenance and management of the building from the stock standpoint. (S)he is also responsible for the logistics stock movements (reception and dispatch) and the supervision of handling staff (daily workers)
Job Description
Warehousing
▪ Organizes and sets up the storage area (cleanliness, security,
access, etc).
▪ Reports problems relating to the building to the logistic assistant together with repair and any other services required.
▪ Ensures that reception/dispatch area and the storage area are kept
perfectly clean and tidy.
▪ Store items properly by family and specifications.
▪ Ensure security and safety (lock door, only authorized people are allowed to get in warehouse).
▪ Supervise the daily workers.
▪ Ensure items are properly organized and are correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and are easy to get to (cleanliness, security,
access, etc).
Reception &
Issuance of material
▪ Is responsible for receiving materials delivered by suppliers, as well as by the MSF staff.
▪ This task includes verification of the equipment and goods delivered as to quality and quantity.
▪ Report to Log Manager any discrepancies between the physical good receiving and the documents and report all damage immediately,
before signing the delivery note.
▪ Immediately after reception of goods update stock cards and/or create stock cards for all stock items, register on the stock card the reference number of the document.
▪ Is responsible for issuance of material upon request.
▪ Collect and archive all documents linked to incoming goods with proper signatures.
Stock control
▪ Is responsible for the management and control of “sensitive” goods, batch numbers, expiry dates, packaging and special storage
conditions.
▪ Carries out a weekly physical stock inventory for PPE and chlorine
together with Log Manager.
▪ Carries out physical stock of all items and transmit stock inventory
(with movements and turnover) to the Log Manager on monthly basis.
▪ Advises and informs the Log Manager when the stock item gets to the
minimum stock level and when they are over maximum.
▪ Fill in the movements of the items in stock cards immediately, before
dispatch to the requester.
▪ Collect and file all documents linked to stock control.
Preparation of
goods for dispatch (picking/
packing)
▪ On the basis of the Internal Requests received, (s)he prepares
outgoing materials in accordance with the required type of packaging
and instructions.
▪ Prepares the goods for dispatch packaging and labeling according to
information provided in the packing preparation document supplied by the logistic assistant.
▪ If uses day laborers to carry out the job of packaging and preparing
the equipment for dispatch, (s)he is responsible for supervising them.
▪ Ensures that the necessary management, packaging and handling
equipment is available (stock cards, identification labels, cardboard
boxes, adhesive tape,…)
▪ Collect and archive all documents linked to outgoing goods after proper signatures.
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related fields.
Experience
Two years minimum in a similar Storekeeping; experience with MSF or other NGOs, desirable.
Language
Essential English and Hausa languages are desirable
Knowledge
Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
