We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Protection Monitoring Information Officer
Location: Sokoto
Employment Type: Full-time
Primary Responsibilities
Program quality and implementation:
- S/he will ensure the quality of the documentation, innovation, learning, and follow-up on the Protection Monitoring aspects of the SPADs project.
- S/he documents learning and follow-up action points as regards the referral system, sexual and gender-based violence prevention, protection monitoring, and awareness-raising.
- In collaboration with the Protection Monitoring Officer, s/he will develop/prepare activity and protection reports (weekly, monthly, ad hoc)
- Identify, document, refer, and or intervene in protection cases identified within protection activities.
- Ensure all protection cases are documented in appropriate forms – referrals, individual case forms, captured on Kobo, and protection dashboard. Ensure all hard copies are stored securely and in appropriate filing systems as per DRC standards in coordination with the PIM Specialist.
- Document and analyze FGDs, community meetings, KII, and HH surveys conducted into a report for sharing with managers and coordinator for review.
- Support the Protection Monitoring Officer with itinerary planning for field visits including donor visits.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, International Development, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems, especially in IDP settings.
- Strong knowledge of protection principles, human rights frameworks, and humanitarian response mechanisms, particularly in IDP settings.
- Experience in conducting protection monitoring, data collection, and analysis to inform programming and advocacy.
- Proven ability to coordinate with humanitarian actors, government agencies, and local communities for protection response.
- Proficiency in information management tools and reporting systems to document and analyze protection concerns effectively.
