African Women on Board (AWB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to propelling African women and girls into leadership roles now and in the future. Operating at the intersection of the private and development sectors, we employ our network and convening power to provoke key stakeholders in the private sector to engage with the public sector, academia and civil society on contemporary issues, such as gender equality, social mobility, ESG and community impact. Job Description
- African Women on Board (AWB) is seeking a passionate and driven Programme Manager to lead the development and implementation of impactful programmes that advance gender equity and women’s leadership.
- In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and delivering initiatives that create real change, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and secure funding to expand AWB’s reach and influence.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead programme development and implementation
- Lead engagement with sponsors, partners, grantors and other stakeholders
- Engage and onboard clients for AWB projects
Responsibilities
Programme Leadership:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative programmes aligned with AWB’s mission, ensuring they are impactful and scalable.
- Develop and manage programme budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Oversee programme evaluation and monitoring, analyzing results to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous learning.
Stakeholder Engagement & Management:
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, grantors, and community organizations.
- Lead fundraising efforts, identifying potential donors, developing grant proposals, and securing funding for AWB’s programmes.
- Represent AWB at events, conferences, and workshops, building networks and promoting the organization’s work.
Client Onboarding & Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to effectively engage and onboard clients for relevant AWB projects.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, ensuring successful implementation of programmes and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, International Development, Gender Studies, Business Administration, Law, Mass Communication, etc).
- Strong understanding of gender equity issues, women’s leadership and associated concepts
- Proven experience in programme management, with a track record of successfully designing, implementing, and evaluating programmes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities. 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
